The Ruth Lyons 50-50 Club Home Page

In addition to the 50-50 Club blog, there is also a Ruth Lyons 50-50 Club Web site. The URL is http://www.ruthlyons.com/ (naturally). There you'll find links to other sites of interest to fans of Ruth Lyons, Bob Braun, Willy Thall, Marion Spelman, Bonnie Lou, WLW, and all things Crosley. From time to time you'll find new photos and a special surprise or two.

You can return here from there by clicking the "Share Your Stories" link.

Dear Mr. Michael Banks,

I have been trying to search for contact info for Ruth Lyons, or the company that owns the publishing rights to "Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Xmas" because we are trying to attain a synchronization license for the use of her song in a non-profit documentary titled "Making Christmas: The View from the Tom and Jerry Christmas Tree."

It has been a bit of a quest so far, and all links to either Fraternity Records (for use of the recording itself) or Ruth Lyons (for use of the song) have been dead ends. I am aware that Ruth Lyons has passed away in 1988, but we cannot figure out who to contact in regards to publishing rights to the song "Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Xmas" which she wrote in 1957.

I was looking at your website at http://ruthlyons.blogspot.com/ and I noticed that you wrote a book about Ruth Lyons, titled: Before Oprah: Ruth Lyons, The Woman Who Created Talk TV. Seeing as how you probably have a wealth of knowlege regarding Ruth Lyons and her carreer, I was wondering if you might know who to contact regarding publications rights for her song, "Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Xmas."

So far, we have tried to contact the record label the song was released under, Fraternity Records at 513-881-8810, but the number turned out to be a fax number. We have tried to contact the Ruth Lyons Chrildren's Fund at 513-412-5012, but that number turned out to be the number for Lisa Snell at Channel 5 news. Do you have any possible leads you can give us in regards to Ruth Lyons or Fraternity Records? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and we look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Laura Ludwig
